Man Dies After Consuming Acid Mistaking It For Alcohol In Tripura

Guwahati: A 55-year-old man lost his life after he mistakenly consumed acid thinking it alcohol Tripura's Khowai district.

The person identified as Kartik Mohan Debbarma, under the influence of alcohol drank bottle of acid and died on the spot on Friday.

According to reports, Debbarma was a habitual drinker and on Friday night when the incident occurred, he was in an inebriated condition.

The reports further claimed that he returned home and slept. At midnight, he woke up to drink more, but mistakenly picked up the wrong bottle containing acid.

After felling unconscious, his family members immediately took him to a local hospital but the doctors declared him dead.
